Reading through the news stories and articles today I had several subjects to explore.  Gas prices are headed for an all-time record, the news in the Middle East isn’t getting better, the cleanup from the storms that hit our area and there was more information on the man that stormed the White House Correspondent’s dinner.  One piece of information that was of serious interest to me: What happened to all that food from the White House Correspondents' dinner?  Good news! According to Weijia Jiang, a CBS News correspondent and the president of the White House Correspondents' Association: "The Hilton donated the ~2600 dinners that went unserved at WHCD. They freeze dried the steak and lobster for longer shelf life before giving them to 2 shelters for abused women and children. A HUGE thank you to the staff that worked through the night under terrible circumstances."

Sometimes it’s the simplest of messages in a sea of negativity that give you a better feeling of how things are in our world.  God is still in control and will use even the most depraved actions of humanity to bless others in some unforeseen way.

I loved the verse of the day I read, as it went perfectly with all the negative things happening at the moment: “Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam; so drop the matter before a dispute breaks out.” — Proverbs 17:14

All one has to do is read that verse while looking at the attached photo for inspiration, and come under conviction by the Spirit to not contribute to the toxicity that fills our life.  Your choice, just be the adult.  Zip it, Turn it off, don’t read it, etc. Simply walk away!

“The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14
